TEXAS A&M CC 6, NSU 5: At Corpus Christi, Texas, Texas A&M Corpus Christi completed the three game Southland Conference series sweep of Northwestern State on Sunday with a victory. Corpus Christi (12-11, 5-4 SLC) answered with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Islanders then added single runs in the second and third inning.
The Demons responded by scoring two runs in the second inning. Stech grounded out to the right side with the bases loaded to score sophomore Randi Stuard, who singled to open both the first and second innings.
Freshman Sara Dornelas (3-14) was tagged with the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits. She struck out four while walking just two.
